I have been coaching soccer for more than seven years and am currently entering my third year with Escondido Surf. I also serve as an Assistant Coach with the Palomar College Women’s Soccer program and bring playing experience at both the collegiate and semi-professional levels.
My passion is player development, particularly helping athletes transition from recreational and Sunday league soccer into competitive club soccer. I take pride in helping players adjust to the demands of the competitive game while developing their technical ability, confidence, decision-making, and overall understanding of soccer. I want players to understand why they make decisions on the field rather than simply follow instructions, allowing them to become more creative and intelligent players.
My coaching philosophy begins with mindset. I believe confidence, resilience, discipline, and accountability provide the foundation for technical and tactical development. I work to create an environment where players are encouraged to compete, express themselves, make mistakes, learn from those mistakes, and continue moving forward. Through strong technical fundamentals and increased comfort on the ball, I want players to develop the confidence to make their own decisions and find creative solutions during games.
Most importantly, I believe young players should enjoy playing soccer. I strive to create a positive but competitive environment where players look forward to training, work hard for themselves and their teammates, and develop a genuine passion for the game. My goal is not only to develop better soccer players, but also confident and resilient young people who believe in what they are capable of becoming.
