I am entering my second year coaching competitive club soccer and my fifth year coaching soccer overall. Over the past several years, I have had the opportunity to work with young players at both the club and high school levels, helping them develop their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game.
In addition to coaching competitive club soccer, I have coached boys soccer at Del Lago Academy for four years, including two years as an Assistant Varsity Coach and two years with the Junior Varsity program. My own playing experience includes high school soccer at San Marcos High School and Orange Glen High School, as well as competitive club soccer with FC Heat, now SDSC Surf Escondido, Tiffany’s Pachuca, and Nido Águila San Diego. I continue to play in local indoor and outdoor leagues.
As a U.S. Soccer Grassroots 11v11 licensed coach, my coaching philosophy centers on player development and building well-rounded athletes. I emphasize technical skills, ball control, passing, possession and combination play, tactical awareness, speed and agility, conditioning, teamwork, communication, and leadership. I believe players develop best when they are challenged while also being given the confidence to learn, make decisions, and grow.
Most importantly, I want my players to develop a strong work ethic, competitive mindset, and genuine love for the game. My goal is to help each athlete improve as a player and teammate while building the confidence and skills that will benefit them both on and off the field.
